Description
Weight, red jasper, from Tell el Retabeh. Broken. Inscribed in hieroglyphs "[dual] king Khety Nebkaura living forever" in cartouche, refering to one of the kings of the Ninth to Tenth Dynasties, ruling northern Egypt. This is the only contemporary inscription of the king, otherwise known from Middle Kingdom literature as the ruler in the Tale of Khuninpu ('tale of the Eloquent Peasant').
