Description
Pottery ostracon, restored from four fragments 8 line hieratic text on obverse gives part of Contendings of Anat & Seth. Seth rapes Anat while she is bathing and the poison (= semen, same word) flew to his forehead and made him ill. Magical use of it as a spell - text is defective and allusive. Black and red ink line drawings on reverse - including a horse. Conserved. Spiegelberg number 1-2. Luxor, Ramesseum (excavated J E Quibell 1895/96).
