Wooden fragment from a coffin. The pieces from the wooden sarcophagus were found by Petrie thrown down the well in the N.E. corner of the Burial chamber, pyramid of Sneferu. Coffin of the early plain style, which had been very violently wrenched open and destroyed. (A, top in photo) shaped thus:- Mortise hole with remains of tenon in bottom. From Meydum.
