Description
Wax encaustic portrait on wood panel of a woman; dark hair with four rows of curls across forehead, skin dark cream/brown, lips pink/brwon, eyes dark brown and white, gold double snake earrings, gold necklace with? pearls, wearing dark red/ orange chiton with darker haematon. Portrait split longitudinally into three main sections, top edge split and section missing from top right; portion missing from lower right of central section. Damage to paint on face and neck. Linene fragments adhering to bottom left around the clothing. (Ex. Tem,p. No. 438.). From Hawara cemetery.
