Fragmentary hieratic papyri, mounted in one frame. B) Fragmentary sheet from an accounts papyrus with red and black text both sides. On the recto to the right is a fish account and on the left is another fish account with notes dated to year 3. On verso, a namelist account (?) to the right and account notes on the left; torn, numerous insect-holes, shredded. Cf UC32142a and UC32142c. The first column on the recto, which is incomplete, may be concerned with general deliveries of fish, both sets of figures add up to 200. It is not stated to where these fish have been delivered but it is presumably Lahun. The second column appears to show that at least some of the fish were destined to be ceremonially rowed to the palace for a festival, or ritual, called “The New Year Catch”. The first column of the verso, of which most is missing, contained a list of names with numbers following and may not be related to the fish at all. The second column of the verso appears to describe what had been done to the fish once they had been received.
