Sheet of papyrus with hieratic letter in black, in thick, large, clear signs, in one 'page' of one vertical and 25 horizontal on recto, another two vertical and 23 horizontal lines and endorsement on verso. Badly torn along bottom fold line, slightly burnt at top edge, and with numerous insect-holes. Petrie lot No. VI.4. From one Irysu to the overseer of the chamber, Sakainu and brought to him by Henat, this letter deals with arrangements for sending a cargo boat and dealing with the people and goods that are on board. It also deals with corvée workers (including Renseneb, the mat-maker, Iot and an Asiatic belonging to the temple, Iker) where they are supposed to be and who is to pay them. This letter was sent on the 13th day of the 4th month of Summer, year 2 after Irysu arrived at the quay of Hutnebes n the morning of the 5th day of the fourth month of Summer.
Cargo sent with Henat and this letter to Sakainu, include: 50 hekats (1 hekat is the equivelent of 4.8 litres) of full-barley, 20 hekats; the remainder of Iot’s taxes from the gatekeeper Senbi, 4 carpets, 1 mat and jugfulls and jarfulls of unknown substances.
