Fragmentary hieratic papyri, mounted in one frame. A) Fragmentary sheet, torn, with eight lines of a report and four guidelines, in black, on recto, and nine columns over twelve lines of an accounts table, in black with one column of red checkmarks, on verso. Text appears to be literary, but is too broken to say exactly what is going on. It seems that somebody is trying to convince the king of his innocence and is perhaps claiming that he has been falsely accused, or threatened by a certain Nakhti son of Rehuy, who is possibly also in trouble with the king. The king demands to see this individual.
The text has been translated as:
'[…………….] name of the gate [……………………………] its building
Look! Right now, your mind is thinking “He is a story-teller […………………] very quickly!
[…………………………] right in front of him. I was ahead of you, having come back to
[…………with] me [………..], saying that I would strike in case I should taste the waters of death
I[……………] entering the place where you wish to confiscate the cargo with regard to Nakhti son of Rehuy
[………]he [………..] saying that he had seen that I had fled from the place where your majesty is because
[……………………] I would die right now to avoid seeing what will happen
I […………………] “Go and bring me Nakhti son of Rehuy” and he was brought to him immediately'.
