Description
Wax encaustic portriat on wooden panel of young man with short, dark hair in rows of curls across forehead; skin pigment cream and patchy pink, lips deeper pink, eyes dark brown and white, haze of dark curly beard around chin; neck long and thick. Robes at base of portrait indistinct, discoloured yellow from bandages, of which traces remain from mummy binding at top and lower edges, probably dark red or purple chiton and haematon; backgorund also obscured. Portrait fragmentary, reconstructed from nine main pieces and other fragments; longitudinally cracked.
