human remains, bones (human)
Description
Right leg and foot, ankle bones displaced and wrapped. Tibia and fibula in correct alignment at top. According to Petrie were dissevered and then carefully wrapped - the ankle bones were each wrapped in cloth, and then recomposed as foot but out of order with no toes. From body of slight man of thirty whose whole body was completely dissevered; long bones reassembled, but without knowledge of exact order; smaller bones left anyhow. Right leg with tibia and fibula in correct alignment at top, with fibula behind; but fibula swings over to anterior of tibia at base - see X ray. The X ray was taken from behind (leg laid on plate). Foot is more difficult, but seems to contain the following ankle bones (out of order). Calcaneum (in centre exposed); Talus Cuboid or navicular - at heel. ?3 cuneiform bones missing, but one seems to be far left toe under bandage; otherwise 3 metatarsals at anterior and no phalanges. From Deshasheh Tomb 113 (long trench pit, with long recess (left); chamber west of it. Body of slight man of 30 with head to south, at full length.
