Description
Hyperscope
Hyperscope (periscope). Rectangular strawboard periscope with detachable lid. Held together with small pieces of red and purple ribbon. Other observations: Handwritten label in with all five periscopes "Samples of "Hyperscopes" as first used by Galton for looking over the heads of crowds on the day of Queen Victoria's second jubilee. Probably first use of modern Trench Periscope".
