Description
Hyperscope
Hyperscope (periscope). Small rectangular cardboard periscope. Held together with steel screws at bottom. Other observations: Handwritten label in with all five periscopes "Samples of "Hyperscopes" as first used by Galton for looking over the heads of crowds on the day of Queen Victoria's second jubilee. Probably first use of modern trench periscope".
