Description
Plaster death mask of Johanne Rehn. Part of Robert Noel's Casts of Heads of Criminals & Suicides series.
Cast of female head and neck on a base. Head is shaved but with noticable eyebrows and eyelashes. Both ears have pieces missing from damage to cast. On the left side there are two scars from execution injuries. Mouth is open slightly, some damage to the nose and the left side of the chin.
Rhen was born in 1822 and executed in Dresden in 1852 for killing her 2-year-old daughter.
