Description
Plaster death mask of Christophe August Tiedge. Part of Robert Noel's Casts of Intellectuals series.
Cast of an elderly man's head and neck with an open collar. The cast is on a round base inscribed with the number 8. The eyes and mouth are closed, the top of the head is bald with hair around the back and sides. There are chips on the left ear, left cheek and back of the neck and collar. There is an orange/brown resin splashed on the base and collar.
Tiedge was born in 1752 and died in 1843, he was a poet.
