In the letter, the writer is reprimanding a subordinate who has apparently not allocated work men as he was told to. The mention of flax probably means that it is in relation to the flax harvest; several other letters deal with shortages of men or allocation of them to bring in the flax. It is just possible that the letter mentioned here is UC32113B, as both deal with flax and both use an idiomatic word for “assign”. The second part of the letter, written on the back is probably regarding a query about tax-liability; it may be informing the recipient of exactly whom the maidservant in question is working for.
