Wax encaustic portrait on wood panel of young woman with dark curly hair. Most of the pigment is peeled away from the face, but there are strips of pink and cream skin and black eyebrows; five white dots indicate a necklace, clothing less eroded: purple tunic with clavus (border) over right shoulder. Portrait broken into one main and one narrow longitudinal fragment with a smaller fragment on the upper right; longitudinally cracked, especially on upper part of main piece; patches of linen and gesso plaster on back of smallest fragment (Ex Temp no 437).
