Wooden block with the metal printing plate nailed on top. Used to produce half-tone pictures featured in Starling's 1909 booklet about the new Institute of Physiology Picture of the front of the Medical Sciences building, UCL. Copper plate discoloured with ink, and wood nearest the plate is black.
