Wax encaustic portrait on wooden panel of woman: dark hair with rows of small curls across forehead, skin dark pink/cream, lips dark pink, gold ball earrings on small hoops, probable gold necklace; surface worn at lower part, wearing probable red chiton with darker haematon. Portrait split longitudinally into three main sections with break in centre of neck area, possilby from digging tool; left edge (as viewed) chipped and holed, linen fragments adhering to back.
