Description
Glass amulet, inscribed stone gem (Greek), blue glass oval: Reverse in intaglio, cast made: central figure seated cross-legged in boat is probably Harpocrates; he is nude, body frontal, head turned slightly to viewer's right. He is represented with (seemingly) feminine breasts but this is probably only a convention to indicate corpulence associated with this deity. His arms are outstretched, he wears a rayed nimbus and has a disc over his head. Flanking him are Isis and Nepthys, standing one at each end of the boat, Greek costume, one wing lifted, the other turned downwards as usual faces are in profile. The boat is made of reeds with upcurved ends. (Obverse) bevelled Sabaoth Adonai "Lord of Hosts". Surface badly pitted no scene is not clear
