Engraving of John Dalton. Engraving of John Dalton. The image is a half-length portrait of John Dalton leaning his elbow on a ledge and looking to the left. The engraving is by Charles Turner after a painted original by James Lonsdale, that the print suggest was in the possession of a T. Thomson. The image is starting to show signs of deterioration (foxing), and is mounted on off-white paper that is in turn framed in an ornate wooden frame with glass screen.
This image desperately needs new backing- the current one is falling apart actively.
