Front of box has two hooks on teh body which attach to two screws on teh lid to hold the lid closed, four flat head screws are also vsible at the front, two at either end. lid has smaller screws all along the edge, and two stains roughly in the middle of the top of the lid. Back of teh box shows four screws in teh smae possition as those on teh front, and the back of two hunges for the lid. Box is scuffed and slightly dirty all over. When opened the lid opens all th way back so it puts pressure on the hinges. A handwritten label on lined paper is pasted into the lid, with numbers 1 - 28 in the margins and a mix of numbers / letters next to this (related to the glass slides?). The 109 glass slides are stored in the box, in 58 slots in the body of the wooden box (these are numbered in pen, handwritten on paper stuck onto the box), usually two slides per space. The glass slides are mostly teh smae size / shape, except for 33 of them whcih are smaller. The slides are glass without any tape etc at the edge.
