"Spot" Test Outfit. Wooden box containing 26 small bottles of chemicals, glass testubes, tubes, ceramic mixing palette, microscopic glass slide plates and circles and a packet of absorbent papers. Reactangualr wooden box with white plaque on lid and two hinges at back. Lid held closed with clasp at front, originally painted red but partly rusted now. When opened lid held up with metal sliding bar at back, left hand side. The 26 small bottles run along teh two sides and back, many still have their numbers and original paper wrapping, though numbers are missing for numbers 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 15, 16, 22, 24, 25. Bottle number 23 is missing. The hole for each bottle has its number written in pencil next to it. All bottles ahve their contents on a label wrapped around teh bottle, and are in good condition except for 24 which has a broken lid. The ceramic mixing pallettehas 12 dimples, 3 lines of 4. There are 12 small glass test tubes, with these is a set of thin glass tubes wrapped in acid free tissue paper. There are three longer glass tubes in a seperate compartmen. 12 glass slide plates are stored next to a small red packet containing microscope glass circles (not opened). There is also a white envelope with 'absorbent papers for 'spot' tests' on teh outside (not opened). A notice is pasted under the lid which gives teh numebr of the bottle, the name of the contents and what it is a reagent for.
