Description
Bronze Aegis of Isis, in extremely fine condition. The head has the tripartite wig, and a crown of 12 uraeus serpents with a single uraeus in front centre. On either side of the wig are protective hawks facing outwards. Aegis decorated with horizontal row of uraeus serpents facing inwards with r' signs above. In centre below wig is a scarab beetle, then semi-circular panels below to the edges with designs including lotuses around bottom panel. Rings at back for attachment - one at top below wig; and two in bottom centre (Conserved in British Museum 1968). From Saqqara Sector H5 - 228
