Model of right-hand figure only. Upright rectangular panel, with narrow semi-circular plinth, on which stands a figure of Charity in high relief, frontal but with head slightly turned to right; her right arm supports a sleeping infant, her left shelters two children standing beside her and embracing (W&G 37). Model for part of the monument to Lady Spencer (1737-1814) at Brington Church, Northamptonshire. Margaret Georgiana, elder daughter of the Rt. Hon. Stephen Poyntz, married John Spencer, later 1st Earl Spencer in 1755. She commissioned from Flaxman the illustrations to Aeschylus published in 1795.
