Oblong rectangular panel with narrow plinth, containing a group of figures in high relief; Model for the monument at University College Chapel, Oxford. Seated at the left Sir William Jones, who had become a Fellow of University College Oxford in 1766, is compiling his digest of Hindu and Muslim law from the sacred laws read to him by the three pundits.
