[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
Wax encaustic portrait on wood panel of man; dark-haired with traces of gilding on head, possibly part of a wreath; face obscured, probably bearded; skin of neck reddish, cream chiton and red-edged haematon. Panel split longitudinally in eight sections, cut straight at top; face blurred and spread, perhaps by Petrie's attempts at cleaning or early melting sun.
