Black instrument with wiring and mains plug. In wooden box, with 6 attachments in box for holding samples. With operating instructions.
Black colorimeter with 6 attachments. Patent label on neck of instrument reading 'PAT'D APR. 24, 1928 NO. 1,667478. KLETT BIO, KLETT MFG. CO. INC. NEW YORK USA.' CLE (R.S) written at bottom of instrument. 2 attachments are in smaller wooden box inside large wooden box with 'KLETT MICROCOLORIMETER LARGE CUPS & PLUNGERS (Cost £5.??) written in blue. Other attachments loose in large wooden case are 2 x large dark glass cups and 2 x dark glass tubes. Operating instructions titled "General directions for using the Klett Colorimeter" with object, in poor condition. Colorimeter is an instrument used for the precise measurement of the hue, purity and brightness of a colour. Works in a similar way to haemoglobinometer.
Asbestos confirmed as present, 2015/10/22. Comments 'The bakelite plug is strongly presumed to contain asbestos / Manage to minimise disturbance'.
