Preserved head of Jeremy Bentham.
Preserved human head with the skin intact, some white hair present on head, and some stubble on cheeks. The head has been preserved by being suspended in sulphuric acid vapours which has dried out the remaining soft tissue and discoloured the skin a dark red-brown. The eye sockets contain glass eyes with blue irises. The head is under a glass cloche on a wooden base.
