Piece of dark granite sarcophagus of Amenhotep, son of Hapu, the overseer of recruits (construction workforces) in the reign of king Amenhotep III; inscribed on two faces, wigged ibis-head of Thoth facing right at bottom also; cramp hole-cut (from re-use?). Bought by Petrie presumably at Qurna in 1909: other fragments of the sarcophagus are in the British Museum and other collections.
