[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
Fragmentary hieratic papyri, mounted in one frame. F). Letter fragment with one column and six lines in black on recto, one line of address (note of courier) on verso; recto extreme right two traces of another column or line; torn with numerous insect holes. This letter looks like someone has claimed a payment (in barley) that was in fact owing to a child. Those responsible for the child are asking the recipient to write on their behalf to the overseer of singers (Senwosret) having asked in vain for the payment back. The mention of the overseer of singers might well mean that the payment was in relation to entertainment or temple singing.
