[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
Visiting card, sepia photograph of A. W. Williamson, seated with book.
Visiting card, sepia photograph of A. W. Williamson. This photograph, allegedly given to the department by Collie, depicts Williamson full length and seated at a table, book in hand, looking to the left. It is annotated at the back in pencil and blue pen, where others have identified the subject. There is also an artist's stamp relating the photograph to its makers: Maull and Polyblank. Their names and "London" are also printed on the photograph's surface, and the exhibition (?) label kept loose within the same clear plastic casing suggests this image was taken c.1870.
