Obverse - portrait of young Queen Victoria, left hand side profile. She wears a crown and her hair is up.
Reverse - A full body portrait of Newton, with a diagram of the Solar System (as then known) to his left showing five planets and a comet (?). and another diagram to his right (unknown).
Around the outer side of the medal is an inscription giving Willaimsons name and the year of award.
