Plaster death mask of Karl August Böttiger. Part of Robert Noel's Casts of Intellectuals series.
Cast of a man's head and neck. The cast is on a round base inscribed with the number 1. Eyes and mouth closed, top of head bald with hair around the sides and back. The back of right ear is chipped.
Böttiger was born in 1760 and died in 1835, he was an archaeologist and the director of the Museum of Antiquities in Dresden.
