Fragmentary letter in hieratic with one column and fifteen lines on recto, one column of address and seven guidelines on verso, all in black; torn shredded, worn along fold-lines, and extremely damaged by insect holes; sender is named as Wah. This letter starts off with the usual greeting formula. It concerns having somebody summoned somewhere in case something has arrived. Unfortunately, what it is that might come is missing owing to damage to the papyrus. Furthermore, it asks for someone to remove a blockage at the 'surrounding wall'. The word translated here as 'surrounding wall' does not appear anywhere else and so is not certain. The letter may well be concerned with agricultural drainage during the inundation season.

This is a message for the lord, [may he live long prosper and thrive], to the effect that all the responsibilities of the lord are safe and sound [and everything is as it should be] thanks to Sheddite Sobek, Horus in the middle of Shedet and all the gods just as yours-truly would wish.

This is a message concerning having the chief servant brought [to ………..]
the moment that [………………..]
If it is the case that [……………………] on that day
has come, go down to the the surrounding wall to remove what is blocking it.
This is a message about it.
This is a message for the lord and it is good that the lord, may he live long, prosper and thrive, listens'.
