The valve consists of a tubular shaped bulb with pointed caps at either end. There are also two caps located on either side of the bulb located toward the left side of the bulb. There is also an exhaust tip located between one of the side caps and the end cap. One of the side caps has green on it. There are glass fittings locared at either end of the tube, attached to wires that connect to each of the caps. There is a metal coil in the center of the bulb that is encased by a metal tube. The wires that connect to the caps are all attached to this coil and tube. The bulb has stamped markings on it including Marconi's W. T. Co. Ltd, Pat appn. No. 28413-18, Made in England, 1558, V. 24
The Marconi V24 was developed as the next step to the 'R' Valve, aimed to improve performance. It was first developed by Marconi in 1916. The valve was meant to handle up to 24 volts, hence it's name.
